From a 500ml bottle on 23/4/2011. Pours very dark brown to black with little head. Has a huge chocolatey aroma with some dark fruit. The flavour is a nice balance of roasted malt and sweet milk chocolate. There is quite a strong burnt bitter taste at the end. The body is medium. This is an excellent porter.

bottle from ølbutikken dark brown, large smooth light brown head very nice roasted stuff aroma, also brown sugar, coffee. There is some hoppy balance but it is not very strong and quite hidden, makes the brew appear a little drier.in the aroma. flavor is roasted malts, flowery and dry hoppy balance, brown sugar, caramel, coffee. aftertaste is roasted malts , sweet caramelly malts, and a little dry hops. This is a very nice porter indeed.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a lumpy 2 inch head in a large tulip. Aroma is very restrained, but good: a nice balance of chocolate and roasted malt, coffee, dried fruit, grass. Taste is bigger - bittersweet mocha, prunes, a little citrus, floral and grassy hops. Long, slightly woody dry finish. Flavorsome and involving but still light and easy-drinking. [3.9]Black with brown edges, lovely beige head that laces well. Aroma has mingled roast and grassy hops, chocolate, coffee, muscatels. Fills the mouth. Taste is just sweet with fried fruit, then modest roasted malt, coffee and good chocolate. Drying, moderately bitter finish is long. Graceful.

50 cl Bottle brought from N-Z by a collegue, thanks Gijs! Deep dark brown to black colour, creamy beige head. Lovely sweet aroma with hints of coffee, chocolate and liquorice. Reminded me a lot of Great Divide Yeti. Flavour is sweet at first, chocolate, liquorice, going towards a hoppy and lingering coffee bitter finish. A bit thin mouthfeel, but very good overall. Would have been excellent with a thicker mouthfeel IMO.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a warm dark brown with a tint of red and a creamy light brown head that leaves quite some lacework. Aroma of fruit and burned malts. Quite full-bodied with sweetish roasted malts, overripe fruit, a little ashes and a dry and hoppy finish. Nice one. 190408

Blind tasting at Papsoes place, another great session, thanks Henrik! Beer #9: Pours hazy dark brown with a tan head. Light roasted and chocolate malt aroma. Light leathery flavour. Mild liqourice note in addition. Light acidic note from the roasted malt with a smooth chocolate note following. Ends with a bitter and roasted malt flavour into the finish.
