This beer is initially dry and bitter. Full flavoured and complex marmalade / aniseed notes follow which then leave a lingering bitterness on the palate. A classic in its style.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 14/04/12. Golden in appearance with a thin white head. Fruit, sweet malt and a little background hop on the nose. Flavour brought out the flavours a little more than the nose, citrus hop, buttery and a bitter sweet finish. Distinctly whelming !

Cask, handpump at The Kingston Arms, Cambridge Sat 14th April 2012 with Loz Warm gold in appearance maybe heading towards light amber. Smooth IPA, sweetish, may a little too much, but good hoppiness flooding through. Decently bitter, quite thick mouthfeel. Quite nice. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Cask gravity at GBBF 2010. Gold, thin beige head. Diacetyl. Not good. Some fruit, but not much hop and mostly diacetyl. Just makes it undrinkable.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earlโs Court, 5 Aug 2010) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grass and fresh hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grass, orange marmalade and generous amounts of fresh, citrussy hops in a fairly bitter finish. Above medium body, with some malt sweetness lurking in the background. Generous hop character and solid malt backbone. Very nice beer.

Cask@GBBF2010. Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is bready, eggy, herbal, wooden and mildly florally hoppy. Flavour is quite much the same. Surpringly big bitterness in the aftertaste.

Cask at GBBF 2010. A dark golden coloured pour with a medium fluffy white head on top. Citrus fruit aroma. Tastes pleasantly hoppy, grapefruit, malty, citrus fruit. A very enjoyable and refreshing IPA from a damn good brewery on the south coast.
