Bij het inschenken vormt zich een stevige lichtbruine schuimkraag.

Fris kruidige/droppige geur.
Mild kruidige lauriersmaak met droppige basis en licht gebrande/zoete toets compleet met zachte bittertje.
De smaken zakken samen weg tot een bittertje met een dropachtige Lauriersmaak die licht aan de lippen blijft plakken.

Aroma of dark malt, shitloads of liquorice, some roast, hint of chocolate, mild coffee. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a light bittersweet finish. Sticky mouthfeel. Decent beer, but it’s liquorice overkill for me.

9, 4, 7, 3, 15, 3.8, Bottle at craig's. Pours deep ruby, nose is chocolate, raisins, dates, smoky, meaty, taste is sweet, chewy, toffee, spiced, fruity.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Almost black colored brew with red glow. Dry bitter taste with hints of liquorice and herbs. This beer have some potential.

330ml bottle. Darkest brwon colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Chocolately dark malty and herbal aroma, notes of laurel. Taste is slightly roasty dark malty, hints of cocoa, herbal notes of laurel. Slightly unbalanced, minimally overspiced, not enough integrated and homogeneous; though the laurel is not a complete mismatch in general.

Draft at Haarlem Culinair Specialbier Festival 2016. Near black with a tan head. Aroma is pretty herbal, definitely getting the bay leaves with chocolate, malt, licorice and roast. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. [06/08/16]
