To celebrate the beginning of a new millennium, Samuel Adams Millennium Ale was released in November of 1999, the next “Extreme Beer” following Triple Bock.
Big, caramel, vanilla with notes of fruit and malt. Finishing clean and crisp.

The package is as elegant as the beer it contains: a cobalt blue bottle with platinum lettering, finished with a natural cork and sealing wax, encased in a cherry wood box. There are only 3,000 bottles of Samuel Adams Millennium, and each is signed and numbered by Koch. A bottle of Samuel Adams Millennium costs about two hundred dollars. The #1 bottle was auctioned off at a benefit for Outward Bound and was sold for almost $5,000.

Warm and sweet with a rich malt and wood complexity, Samuel Adams® Millennium is an example of the brewers’ art in its highest form

Didn't realize only 300 bottles were made AND it was released in 1999. Holy shit.

No rating on this one. It is way past its prime

Very cloudy brown color. Tons of brown sugar, port, burnt raisins, dark cherries, burnt raisins in the nose. Very boozy. Super sweet. The booze is way too strong and rough. This is in amazing shape for the age. Superb but the booziness distracts

LCI, Thanks Alex! Solid figs and port wine vibes, amazingly smooth for 20% abv, like not even kidding, the nose is definitely boozy but not in a bad way like fundamental theorem, like port wine and brown sugar syrup throughout with a smooth clean finish

Bottle shared at A Day To Sink All Sea Shepards tasting. Cloudy brown with no head. Aroma of raisins, caramel, vanilla, fudge, malt and then booze and alcohol coming out strongly. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with hot alcohol and very soft carbonation. Very boozy but done in a good way. Tried this along with Dave, and though they’re both way too strong ABV, this was the winner. [17-09-2016]

750 ml bottle shared at the original Chez Moeder Lambic’s cellar. Hazy copper-red brown color with no head. Malty aroma, caramel, dark dried fruits, raisins, light vinous, wood, alcohol. Sweet and light bitter aloholic taste like aroma. Medium oily silky body with soft to flat carbonation.

Extreme & manifold thanks to kermis!!! Gorgeous bottle. Small sample. Pleasantly warming, not boozy at all with thick sweet malts, sugar, almond, sweet walnut, very thick & rich malt body, thick toffee malts,… Superbly rich malt base, oxidation that is here only adds, sweet vanilla & malty toffee sherry. Really amazing & so much better than Utopias which is heavy oxidation & boozy. Utopias is nice & fun to try ones but this is an infinitely better beer in my opinion. The hype is real.

@ A day to sink all seasheppards. Thnx for sharing, everyone !! Pours dark brown, rather clear. No head. Smell is full, bit booze, grains. Taste is very silky, booze, grains. Sweet, full, grainy. very complex ! very nice, perhaps a bit boozey ( it IS 20 ABV , after all ) which made it the lesser one between MMM and M , but appart from that, this is indeed a great beer where I can understand the hype for

9000th rating. Huge thanks to Brad for sharing this at the lobby share during RBWG. Number 686/3000 bottle. Pours a dark cloudy brown with no head. The oma is strong booze, dark fruit, oak. Thin mouth with strong booze and caramel, fig, vanilla, held up very well, really enjoyed this.
