Bottle. Pours dark reddish brown with large offwhite head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toffee, biscuits and prunes. Taste is medium to very sweet, faint to light bitter and faint acidic. Body is oily with medium carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of malt, caramel, toffee, nuts, sweet liquorice, ripe apples and prunes. Tastes very much like a British brown ale.

Murky dark amber, small light beige head. Yeasty, malty aroma, dark sugar, weak hints of cinnamon. Flavour has orangy sourness, yeast. A little sweetness too. A little thin - does not feel right.

500ml bottle, vintage 2012, many thanks to Skinnyviking. Firm, beige head to a hazy, dark orange coloured body. Poor lacing. Subdued, mid-sweet malty nose, caramel and dried fruits. Flavours of candied fruits, and dark spices balanced by a bittersweet ending of dark fruits. Medium bodied. Ok Yuletide feel (at home, Tromsø, 28.12.2013).
