Bottle from Redh. Appearance - deep amber to brown with a cream to tan head. Nose - toffee, nuts and honey. Taste - nuts and bread with honey following them in. Palate - medium bodied, quite sweet and needed some hop or malt bitterness to round it off, but not there. Overall - ok.

Cask at Swan, Farnborough. Light floral aroma. Light chestnut. A very healthy off-white head. Sweet with some umami hints. Berries and maltyness. In fact gets progressively sweeter but not too much so. Light to medium bodied. Quite soft. Long finish, slightly astringent. Hasn’t had this for a while. Had written it off as a standard bland END but glad I was incorrect. Really nice pint.

Cask handpump at the Castle Tap - Reading. Pours clear reddish-brown with a frothy light tan head. Pleasant aroma with notes of toasted brown bread, light earth, ripening berries. Light sweet flavor with more toasted bready malts, light earthy bitterness, hints of dry toffee and cocoa. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Nicely balanced on the finish, with yet more brown bread, earth, some leaves, hints of cocoa. Solid ESB.
