Cask @ Off The Tap, Bingley. Golden with a very thin head. Sweetened malty ale with red berries in its aroma. Less stated in its taste. But still sweet.

Cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Standard golden appearance: light gold, clear with a decent head. Surprisingly malty aroma: toast, mild cheddar and biscuits, a bit of banana and citrus. Taste is less pronounced: a sharp bitter which slowly fades on the back of the tongue. Hints of banana throughout the taste. A reasonable yet quirky beer.

Cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford. Poured a hazy golden colour with a thin white head and good lacing. Floral hop aroma with toasty malts and a rather sharp copper hint. Caramel and apricot flavours with some straw. Finishes with dry grains, orange peal and pine hops.

Cask at the Greyhound (JDW), Maidenhead. Pale amber with a tight white head; creamy and malty in the mouth; then lightly bitter with a hint of citrus. Another boring golden ale.

Cask at the Seven Stars, Rugby - 31/10/12. Lightly hazed pale golden, cleared up after a few minutes, with a good sized white head. Nose comprises caramel malt, light floral tones, a little citrus and a touch of soap. Tastes of caramel, light citrus, touch of tropical fruit. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, fairly smooth on the palate.

Cask at the Elm Tree, Cambridge. Clear yellow straw coloured pour with a broken thin white head and no lace. There’s a hint of malt in the aroma, but all the enjoyment is in the lovely peppery, spicy, bitter flavour. That pepper hits the palate and stays around for quite a while. A really super session beer. Worth hunting down.
