500ml bottle from Booths, Penwortham. Aromas are butterscotch, fudge. Astringent malty taste. Harsh. Aptly named. Distinct lack of any hop character.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - amber with a thin lacy head. Nose - toffee, butterscotch. Taste - burnt toffee and astringent grain. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a dry tangy and astringent finish. Overall - this is another fine mess.

New Oxford, Salford 27 Jan 13. Lys gylden. Lavt skum med litt lacing. Søt sviskearoma med hint av karamell. Smaken litt vassen. Tørr fruktig med litt syrlighet i ettersmaken.

Cask at The New Oxford Winter Ales Festival in Salford. Half shared with Finn. Clear copper coloured body, headless, dotted spots to the glass. Aroma of fresh and dried fruits. Taste of citrus fruits mixed with caramel malts. Bittersweet ending. A good, average bitter (Greater Manchester, 27.01.2013).

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 15/09/12. Clear golden with a thin white head. Malt, sweet orange and light medicinal tones on the nose. Pale malt, light citrus notes, orange rind and caramel in the flavour. Medium bodied and carbonation to match. Distinctly average.

Cask (handpump) @ Harlequin, 108 Nursery Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire England S3 8GG.Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, chamomile tea, light to moderate earth - nutty, toffee - butter notes, earth notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, chamomile tea. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. A bit messy .. [20100427]

2nd December 2008. Clear gold beer, no real head. A light fruity bitter with no real bitterness. Okay but nothing special.
