Old rating from 2014 - 500ml bottle from the brewery on my Wales road trip. Poured at home in Jersey, it's caramel with a white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, grains, nuts, toffee & malt. Moderate body. Dry mild bitter finish

Handpull cask at the Andrew Buchan, Cathays, Cardiff. Light to mid-ruddy brown, clear with a tight beige head. Almost a sour woody aroma, heavy on the malt with some forest floor and some red berry. Taste is bittersweet bit very heavy on the malt, with a watery and fairly short finish. Competent but ultimately fairly dull bitter.

15th May 2019, cask half-pint in the Pen & Wig, Cardiff. Decent malty Bitter with a solid late bitterness. Dark amber body, off-white crown. Easy drinking with a little malt sweetness balanced by the hops for a good blend of flavours.

Cask. Pale copper colour with a small off-white fluffy head. Aroma is nutty, some bready malts, a bit grains as well as some floral and grassy notes. Flavour is pretty similar, but stronger on the malty side. A quite malty bitter, but otherwise quite much a bitter by the book.

Malty bitter nose and taste, but a very healthy one in both areas. Looks the part too.

Bottle from Tesco Extra, Bridgend, Wales, 21.08.11 Pours amber good clarity with a filmy white head. Fruit & toffee on the nose and in mouth, slight boiled sweet quality to this. Soft in the mouth, lacks a little in bitterness, though there is some, quite dry at end. Its marginally better than the Rhymney Export and overall whilst not exciting it’s fine. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Clear brown beer. Soft palate. Soft fresh malt - a bit watery but in a refreshing mineral water sort of way! A little bit of hop at the end. A curious beer but a clean tasting one!

Bottled. An amber beer with an orangey head. The aroma has light notes of flowers, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as a touch of hops.
