Cask @ Counting House, JDW. Amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of slight roasted malts. Flavour is initially slightly sour malty, fruits. Later subtle and smooth roasted malts. Balanced and sophisticated.

Cask handpull at Westgate, JDW, Mass Spoon Rating. Very dark brown with a thin dark beige head. Ok, that is a good mild. Very good dark malts, not overly roasty, more of a dark fruity mild. Lovely roasty aroma, then some really good berry fruits in the mouth and then a juicy fruity finish. Man this is good. Shows you don’t have to go extreme to make a really good beer. Loved it. The juiciness is outstanding. Black cherry mostly. Bit of blackberry.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 17/04/10. Dark brown in colour with hints of red and a decent tan head. Gentle aroma of caramel, damsons and dark chocolate. Flavour was sweet, with plenty more caramel, raisins, cocoa and a lingering, dry finish. Great stuff.
