Draught at Mikkeller Bar. Opaque black liquid with small to medium tan head. Aroma of fresh coffee, cocoa, ash, tobacco, raw sugar and a bit biscuit. Taste is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of chocolate, coffee and ash. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice.

10oz pour at Mikkeller Bar is an opaque black with some creamy, foamy off white head. Nose is malty, toast, licorice, some rubber, Mexican chocolate. Flavor is sweet, malty, licorice, molasses, dark but not quite burnt toast, cherry, a little tire rubber at the end, some plum, dark bread. Full bodied, fairly dry finish. Missed the rye because the dark roast really overpowers any subtlety.

Color is black with a small light brown head. The smell and taste are mostly roasty and coffee. Tastes kind of heavy. Carbonation is ok. Not my favorite though.

Bottle at ACBF. Very dark red brown beer. Small tan head. Crispish palate but with paradoxical soft edges. Rye spice. A bare whisper of dark chocolate. A little fruity hop in the semi dry finish. Good rye porter.
