Thin light brown. Aroma of alcohol. Salty TCP taste, not particularly pleasant finish. Too high an ABV for what it is. Not one of Caledonian’s finest.

[Cask at the Hope Tap, Reading] Amber with a moderate white head. Smokey hints promise much, but they soon fade to leave a pleasantly bitter toffee and malt flavour. A very decent workmanlike beer.

Cask, handpump at The Penny Black, Bicester, Oxon, 18-04-10 Copper in colour, its a good looker, not brill but not bad. filmy white head. This is quite full flavoured, and easier to drink than the ABV might suggest. Its possibly not at its peak and the hoppiness soon gives way to the maltiness, bit I quite like it. A6 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Draught. Clear coppery brown with white head. Nice complex aroma with hops, some vegetable nots and something sweet and tangy. Light body and very little carbonation. Taste starts off fruity with a hoppy bitter finish. Nice beer/
