If you’re looking for an ordinary wheat beer, you’re barking up the wrong tree. Designed to take the edge off the hot dog days of summer, Hop Dog Double Wheat IPA offers both quenching wheat character and a big hop bite.

After a long winter, it’s time to take the party outside. Hop Dog Double Wheat IPA compliments quintessential summer fare: grilled fish, chicken, pork, shrimp and veggies. And try pairing it with desserts that feature citrus--like, key lime pie or lemon curd cheesecake. This beer works with all that is summer.

A hazed golden ipa with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with dank resinous floral hops, treacle, light oxydation, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, treacle, dank notes, very nice.

Draft pour at the Seattle Taphouse. Rating from notes. Pours a clear shiny golden color with a fading foam head. I love the hop pun beer names by the way. I hope this is a trend that sees no end any time soon. I have a few ideas for some myself. Very wheat winish flavor. Grainy finish. Sweet, citrus, and flavorful. Good beer here.

Poured from 1pint 6fl oz bottle. Golden orange with white head. Subtle balance between the sweet and bitter, a very mild funk sits in the background. A little citrus, a little pine, a little malt.

Bottle from Whole Foods, Lynnwood
cloudy deep blond color with generous compact head. Piney and pungent hopping, with lean and elegant pale malt backbone, plenty of fruits and hop resins.
Perfect IIPA, fresh, easy to drink.

Slight haze, big fruity aroma, orange. The body is big, thick, lots of bright orangey hop but also a lot of malt as well. Bit sticky but I like it.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a hazy orange/amber colored body with a one finger white foamy head. Light lacing slides practically immediately into the body.
The smell had some orange, some tangerine, just a tad of wheat.
The taste had all of the previously mentioned flavors with a touch of oiliness, orange aftertaste, dry finish.
On the palate, it sat at/about a medium, and was slightly sessionable. Carbonation still holds some strength even though I’m having this a little older than I probably should. Carbonation is good for the style and for me - pretty much spot on.
Overall, a wheat DIPA, hey I like the idea, and I will definitely look for this one every summer that I live in Alaska.

Bottle @ Steve’s house, courtesy of arminjewell. Pours a hazy golden orange appearance with a thin white head. Soapy herbal hoppy, a touch tropical fruity, tangerine aroma. Fairly bitter, quite soapy, light citrusy, grassy, orange flavor. Bleh.

On tap at Toronado. It’s a hazy orange colored beer topped by a small, white head leaving curtains. The aroma is fruity, sweet and lightly grassy and spiced. Sweet flavor with some pale malts and fruityness. Some bitterness, but initially and in the end. Medium body, pleasant carbonation. Quite bitter finish actually. Not the most interesting beer of the day, but drinkable indeed. 130804
