The rhinoceros may not be the king of the jungle, but he commands respect nonetheless. Powerful and distinctive, Telegraph Rhinoceros pays homage to one of the world's most majestic and endangered creatures. Brewed with a hefty dose of rye malt and balanced by a ridiculous amount of hops, our "rye wine" is truly a unique beast. Be careful... this rhino may seem mellow at first, but is known to charge unexpectedly!

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of straw and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and alcohol, with an edge of acidity, that carries thru to a tart finish.

Bottle at Craigs big Edinburgh tasting, this bottle courtesy of ’Craig’, thanks mate. Shared in company of Craig, Stella, Jan, Charlotte, Fritz and Loz 30.10.10 Hazy amber pour with a slight orangeyness also in looks and a white bubbly head. Bit boozy, very sweet, some bitterness, bit sticky. I found this fine but nothing special, yes there were hops and a distinct maltiness but it never stood out from the crowd as I hoped it would. 750 ml from Country Club. I ahd been looking since early summer for this one and it pops up at the nearest liquor store. Nose of brown sugar, nuttiness, and some prunes. Hazy copper with a huge yellow-beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet with a moderate amount of contrasting bitterness, raisins, and some alcohol warmth. Different take on a barleywine but pretty tasty.

C&C 750 from South Bay Drug. Pours hazy, rather pale blood orange with a foamy beige head. Body is thick and carbonation is creamy/foamy. Flavor is lots of malt, kind of rough like rye, something like apricot, and enough hop to pretty much balance out what must be a lot of sugar. There’s a whole lot of flavor here. Wow. Very impressive.

Rating #1234. Bottle shared by Patrick. Pours hazy orangish amber color with off white head. Floral and spicy aromas with some hoppiness. Flavor has some spiciness from the rye and some bittter hops with mild sweetness. Medium body with average carbonation.

Bottle 65 cl. Hazy amber golden with a rough, off-white head. Aroma of yeast, nuts and strong alcohol. Quite full-bodied with plenty of nuts and dried fruit with a little yeastiness. Distinct alcohol and phenols in the finish with a somewhat unrefined hopping. 110709
