Deep and malty. With a large quantity of specialty malts (Caramel, Black Malt, Black Barley, Chocolate, Brown Malt, Munich, Brown Malt … we threw the kitchen sink at this one) our Imperial Stout has a tremendous depth of flavor. Magnum hops are added during the boil to balance the substantial maltiness and Mt. Hood hops provide a nice spicy finish.

Thanks to decaturstevo for sharing this one. Straightforward looking Imperial Stout. Black with a tan head. Coffee, sweet cocoa aroma. Starts somewhat sweet with roast bitterness on the back end. Full bodied and smooth.

Bottle from Enniskillen; nose of coffee and chocolate; cherry brown with a small beige head; flavor of coffee, chocolate and a little hop bitterness, lasting to the finish.

Fresh dark malty aroma; toasted malt, bit of chocolate; didn’t get coffee. Opaque brown/black color with a tan head that quickly flattened. Medium body. Mild carbonation. Starts sweet. Seems nearly creamy. Comes across as a sweet stout to me. Very rich. Toasted malt, bit of chocolate, bit of coffee. Not a really dry finish, and the bitter is somewhat overmatched by the sweetness. Takes a long time for the finish to become primarily bitter. It’s delicious, though! Good way to finish the day.

Deep brown body with reddish highlights. Thin light tan head. Chocolatey aroma with notes of coffee, roasted malt, and bitter hops. Rather light for an Imperial Stout. Roasted malt body with dark chocolate and a rather strong emphasis on spicy, bitter hops. Licorice and soy round out the body. Oily. On the dry side for an Imperial Stout. Quite tasty.

Bottle Pours a deep black and a nice tall tan head that eventually settled to a thin layer and some blocky sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet prunes, molasas, and a touch smokey. Flavor is a nice combination of sweet smoke, and dark roasted grain and dark malt. Finish is smokey and slightly bitter. Nice Stout.
