Half pint by hand-pump at Olde Dolphin Inne. Filmy layer leaving lacing rings down the glass. Crystal clear amber coloured body. Mid-sweet caramel on the nose. Brown malty flavours with a touch of herbal hops, Bittersweet finish. A decent version of the style. Like it (Derby 21.02.2015)

On cask at the Stone Loach Market Deeping. OK brown bitter with a taste of hops on the first taste. Easy drinking for a six Nations themed beer.

An old rating I’ve just found - somewhere in the West End of Edinburgh, perhaps Bert’s Bar. Pours amber with a proportionate head. Burnt malt and dry raisins. Taste of much the same . Quite rounded and drinkable medium bodied and textured. More drinkable than tasty.

Cask handpull at Pullman Folkestone. Sulphur and caramel aroma. Clear amber beer. Quite a lot of character. Someone is playing Elgar. Wonderful. Its a decent rose fruit fruit salad beer. Good nick if a tad tight. Best Caley beer in some time.

Cask conditioned at The Shakespeare, Durham. Copper coloured beer, low head. Malty aroma, notes of toffee and nuts. The flavour is fairly well balanced between the malts and hops, nutty notes.

Cask-conditioned at the Nottingham Arms, Tewkesbury 4/2/2011. Deep gold in colour with a slight white head. Caramel aroma with a trace of leafy hop. Flavour had the house style of butter, with plenty of toffee sweetness and a moderately bitter finish. Ok.
