The incredibly subtle, elegant and mellow flavour of Oude Geuze VAT 91 has its origins in foeder No. 91, which used to be a calvados vat in Normandy. Today this foeder is creating excellent, mild Lambic beer, perfect for Oude Geuze. VAT 91 is soft, rounded, full-bodied, complex and balanced.

Sehr klassisch!

Cloudy copper with a white head. Lightly sour, wood, green apple, sour grapes, a touch of citrus, leather. Finish has a touch of funk, lightly sour and a bit dry. This is a perfectly balanced beer and an excellent sip. Lovely.

Fruity, tart taste with citrus, sour grapes, green apples, hay, barnyard and oak wood. More than medium body, quite dry. Acidity is fairly subtle and elegant, with a ripe fruit touch to it. Bouteille: Hazy to cloudy, small but stable foamy (off-) white foamy layer, orangey coloured, moderate to robust - not overly dry - sourish aroma of green apples with bretty traces plus a lemony fruity twist; solid bitter and also mildly sweet flavour, medium bodied, not too tart; lingering sourish citrussy finish with returning traces of green apples, some sweetness still detectable. Well balanced, well drinkable….
