Cask, half pint at the excellent Roscoe Head. Crystal clear, dark brown body. Tiny layer blanketing the glassware. Mild, roasted malty aroma, semi sweet. Roasted malty taste with nuts and caramel added by fruity hops. Smooth bitter ending. A good, low alcohol, bitter (Liverpool, 07.04.2013).

Deep golden brown in colour, plenty of head but frothy as oppose to creamy despite a creamy texture in the palate. Low on flavour but a slightly roasted taste.

Bottle: Clear, chestnut-amber coloured, stable off-white head with a little lace, moderate fruity-caramelly nose with some herbal hops underneath; moderate dry bitter-sweet flavour, relatively "full"-bodied for a beer of 3.5%; lingering dry herbal and fruity finish. Really good…
