Brown 500ml bottle; the beer was just out of date when it was reviewed during one of my ’random tasting evenings’ during Oct 2010. The beer is a lovely clear deep copper colour, a full off-white foaming head sat on top. The head gave off a good thick lacing down the glass. The aroma was malty more than hoppy, as was the taste. The body is fine considering the ABV, this is a good session bottled beer. A pleasant beer and recommended for those that want an uncomplicated English Bitter.

500ml bottle. Pours dark amber with a large head. Aroma is boiled sweet and vanilla, some bready malt also. Taste doesn’t have much to start. Fruity malt and boiled sweet finish. Bit too fizzy.

Bottle. Dark amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is hop, fruit, caramel, butterscotsch. Flavour is hop, sourness, fruit, malt, pine, caramel, butterscotsch. Boring beer.

500 ml bottle, bought at Newcastle Intl Airport. ABV is 3.5%. Copper colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma with some malty and nutty notes, hints of caramel and English hops. Light bodied, as expected from a 3.5% beer, but the fairly dry flavour has some nutty malts, a slight acidity, and a distinct and slightly metallic hoppy bitterness in the finish.

Amber ith a small white head. Aroma of caramel and fruit with a touch of butterscotch. Sweetish caramel flavour with grassy hops.

Bottle. A clear, dark amber to copper-colored beer with a finger-thick off-white head. Buttery, slightly roasted nose with a fruity hoppyness. Buttery flavor too, with roasted malts, some nuttyness and a little hoppy touch. Decent bitterness. Slightly acidic, but not in an infected way. Medium to thin on the palate, a bit unpleasant carbonation. Not too carbonated, just slightly hard and unpleasant. Short finish with a decent bitterness. A beer that slides down easily but is rather uninteresting. 110219

bottle from kihoskh pours a clear amber, smooth offwhite to light brown head. metal, caramel, flowers and eggs is the first that hit my nose, aroma is fortunately better than the first impression, still it is some sort of breadish caramelly tightly bitter thing. flavor is bitter, very slightly citrussy or fruity powdered sugarish soruish, faint sweet malts, lots of bitterness as in any other british bitter. Pretty weird tasting bottle, something like usual english bitter, poured over a grapefruit with powdered sugar. End result being bitter with hints of grapefruit and powdered sugar.. strange..
