From a 5l tin growler. Unclear dark golden with a big foamy fluffy head. Very malty, grainy, buttery, biscuits, vanilla, zesty, diacetyl. Malty sweetness, dry zesty bitterness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry grainy biscuity zesty bittersweet finish. The kind of beer I love: Rustic, complex, microbrewed, buttery with some diacetyl. A great Zwickel!

Hell herber Antrunk, mild, gering süß, frisch. Angenehme Herbe, im Abgang etwas trocken. OK aber bei Weitem nichts Besonderes. 8/9/10/9//8

On draught at the brewpub. This beer is a clear orange color with a thin off-white head that dissipates to a wispy film. Sticky jagged rings of lacing. The aroma is toasty malt and mild hops. Light body with flavors of bready malt, lightly spicy hops and a bit of fruit. The finish is malty with a lingering sweetness left behind. Decent overall.

2011-05-18, draught at the bräuhaus, 7-5-6-3-12=33
Amber color with beautiful creamy head. Aroma of malt and cereals, with light chocolate aroma, lightly dusty. Dry mouthfeel, the malt and caramel flavor are mild, while the dust character is too evident; correct bitterness. Ain’t no Helles.
2011-03-28, draught at the bräuhaus, 6-4-6-3-11=30
Hazy copper-amber color; medium-sized creamy head. The aroma is mild: bread, biscuity malts and kitchen rinsing water. Some dry malt and caramel flavor, correct bitterness. Drinkable but nothing special.
2010-12-08, draught at the bräuhaus, 6-4-6-3-12=31
Cloudy copper color; creamy head. Mild aroma of malt and straws. The mouthfeel is quite smooth, even if it’s a bit too much carbonated; there is some unexciting malt flavor, quite dry, with a light biscuity trace, and a rustic strong bitterness, quite rough in the end. Average.
2010-07-20, draught at the bräuhaus, 7-4-5-3-11=30
Hazy copper color. The aroma is light, but with some decent biscuity malt and hop. Dry mouthfeel, lean body; very light malt flavor; strong bitterness. Unimpressive.
