Named after the Norse trickster God, Loki is beautifully balanced and deceptively strong. Malt-forward and hoppy, with dry-hopping for added depth. Not usually an IPA fan? Loki may surprise you. This one’s tricky—watch yourself.

473ml can. Pours a clear copper with a small, foamy, short lived, beige head that laces. Aroma of grainy caramel malt, raisin and floral hops. Sweet flavour of biscuity pale malt, caramel, brown sugar, orange and pine resin in a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with a sticky texture and average carbonation. Malt forward and a bit sweet for me. Just ok.

Has a harsh astringency, smooth malt body, but it can’t save it from it’s own terrible bitterness. Prairie Sun saskatoon. (Dec 2019 3.0) This version is pretty solid. Super clear and quite lively. Prairie sun ak

A reddish copper DIPA with a thin lacing light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light vinous notes, treacle, light butterscotch, resinous hops, alcohol warmth, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with light roasted notes, treacle, light resinous hop, light citrus, nice and smooth. Bottle from around September 2011.

bottle - Pours dark copper colored with a small head. It has a resinous, hoppy aroma. The strongly bitter flavor has more resinous character and some caramel malt in the background. It’s medium to full bodied, a solid but certainly not fantastic beer.

On tap at Barley Brothers. Pours a clear amber gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma is a bit muddled with musty grain, earthy citrus and grass notes. Flavor has some sweet citrus with grass notes, sweet grains and a hint of butterscotch underlying.

Pours quite cloudy dark orange golden into the glass with a fine off white head. Ok lacing down the sides of the glass. A bit sweet dried fruity, toffee and hoppy aroma. A fine medium + body. A little bit unbalanced sweetness versus bitterness. Not cloying in any way. Just a bit to much over to the sweet side. Soft carbonation. Nice complex flavor with dried fruit, resinous, some pine, raisins and quite hoppy. Decent and ok dipa, although a bit to much over to the sweet side for my likings.

Poured from the tap. Hazy yellow with orange tinge and white head. Very floral citrus aroma with mild hops. Flavour has more resinous and floral hops, but quite mild, a bit of funk and mild caramel malt. Medium body.

Some hops and booze in aroma, though not very balancedar. Finishes a little odd, with mismatched bitterness and some astringency . Pours close orange with some head and lacing.
