Golden amber in colour with citrus and some floral hop aromas. Toffee sweetness and citrus fruit flavours are balanced by a floral and earthy hop contribution, with a long dry satisfying bitter finish.

Cask at Waterloo Tap. AS english Pale Ale... the cip does have EPA under the beer name. Aroma... non-existent? Clear copper gold. Thick foamy white head. Medium-heavy bitter. Citrus, quinine and grains. Light-medium bodied. Flat. Long dry astringent finish. A pumped up Gold, if that floats yer boat.

Hand-pulled pint at The Pheasant Inn, Wellington Shropshire on 30th July 2021. Light amber body, white head. Mild citrus front to both the nose and taste, decent enough session ale, if a little 'watery' body wise.

Cask at the Pup and Duckling, Solihull. Poured a crystal clear copper colour with a bubbly white head. The aroma is malt, dry woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth, woody, dry hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Served “warm”. A classic English session bitter.

Cask at Bir&Fud (Rome). Clear and bright orange color, creamy and regular ivory foam. Fantastic appearance. Nose: malty, canditi, pastry cream a bit. Mouth is pungently bitter, almost chicory, a bit over the top imo. Sessional, easy, just solid

Handpull cask at the Champion of the Thames, Cambridge. Deep golden, clear with a few white foamy bubbles masquerading as head. Light sulphur in the aroma, some wheaty grain, dried grass. Taste is bittersweet with a well-judged astringency and an nice sour note. Some savoury/spicy hoppy notes in the finish with a bitter medicinal aftertaste. Fuller body than most basic bitters, but this isn’t really basic. It’s got a pleasant complexity to it, and it feels good to have it in my mouth.
