Bottle at a private tasting in Belgrade/Serbia. It pours a reddish hazy brown colour, minimal foamy head which quickly lowers. Nose: molasses, stone fruits, sweet malts, sugar. Mouth: alcohol sugar and some figs.

Bottle at the ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - thanks to Ronny. Pours clear, copper-gold with a fine, white cream head. Sweet bready malt nose, some toffee and caramel. Big sweet flavor, more toffee, light bitter grains, toasty sugars. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, some sweet bread, toffee, fruitcake. Sweet and tasty. Nice.

Hazy amber beer, small white head. Light semi dry palate. Aniseed and malt that has a trace of Port Wine character. Sweet caramel with estery peach and banana undertones. Vague bubblegum. Semi soft finish with mild toffee. Interesting!

Bottle at ChrisO tasting, thanks to Ronny, 30/12/12. Hazed darkish amber with a thin off white head that clears to the edge and leaves a film. Nose is dark toffee, fruits, booze, wood, touch dungy. Taste comprises dark fruit, raisens, dates, treacle toffee, sweet sugars, booze and wood notes. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, the alcohol is well disguised. Decent enough.

Lovely cloudy amber colour with a tan head. Fruity aroma. Sweet (not heavy sweet) flavour. Fruity and a fine caramel background. Also some hoppy notes. Fine rating beer by the fire.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 2013-06-30, from Systembolaget, 20111028) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was very small and white. Aroma had resin, raisins, sweetness and malts. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, alcohol, sweetness, raisins, dark fruits, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. I should perhaps have drunk this fresher because the 100IBU bitterness had softened quite a lot. Sweet, quite balanced and a bit too boozy barley wine.

Drucken igen 2013 vintage. Klassisk brittisk bw med madeira, torkad frukt, honung och läder. Aningen platt men annars bara positiva ålderstecken.

Cloudy dark amber color; generous head. The aroma is soapy, strange; later, some vanilla and malt. As the pour already reveals, the body is quite thin, for this ABV; also the carbonation is quite high and doesn’t allow the malt flavor to completely come out; there is a quite good caramel and malt flavor, with a light and pleasant yeast character; the final is a bit boldier on the malts, and therefore the alcohol and bitterness are a good and balanced blend overall. Pleasant beer, but not impressive. I don’t see ageing potential.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are plums, raisin, yeast, caramel and hops. Vinous beer.
