Draft from Brouwerij Lane. Poured dark, roasted malts, didn’t really get too much rosemary, but anyway I thought it was pretty decent stout that hit all the right ntoes.

Bottled. Coppery brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is biscuits, crackers and some bready notes, but also has some chocolate and mild coffee tones. Flavour is chocolaty, some rye bread, biscuits and mild vanilla tones. Smooth and nice sipper.

On tap @ Blind Tiger House. Yupp, it's a black one this. A really deep dark chocolate brown head that's leaving curtains and dots down the sides of the glass. Smells superb roasted and thick creamy. Lots of chocolate and darker roasted coffee mocha, soft hints of sweet marzipan and marshmallows. Lovely. Tastes superb also. It's both sweet and almost a little wood acidic - in a really good way. Thick and almost chewy on the texture and it's prickling and below average on the carbonation. So much dark chocolate in this. Ben and Jerry pish-food also. A lovely tasting one! 21.06.2015

Bottle shared at the big Dave tasting at craft beer Co Islington. Opaque caramel brown coloured pour with a loose light tan head. Aroma is nutty earthy, little powdered choc, little shredded coconut. Flavour is composed of earthy, brown malts, brown sugars and a little smoke. Little lactose sugars. Palate is medium full, highish carbonation rounded. Lingering earthy coconut. Good.

Bottle thanks to Fergus. It pours near black with a small white head. The aroma is toasty, creamy, earthy roast, dull filter coffee, musty/farty aspect, cocoa and salted liquorice. The taste is bitter, earthy roast, salted liquorice, cocoa, ashy, bit of smoke, minerals, liquorice and some alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty OK without being a game changer.

I left some in the glass as tribute to what may be my last pretty things rating. RiP! Roast and some light caramel. Pours black with good head and lacing. Light bitter finish with touch of sour mash.
