Super Strong Lager

On tap @ Artigiano in Fiera 2021. Il naso riconosce segni di fruttato. La finezza olfattiva è normale e l'esistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il manto birroso superiore resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il piano sottostante è di consistenza limpida. Il colore è giallo dorato brillante. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è pronunciato. La forza gustativa è elevata e la durata è buona. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. Al palato prevalgono impressioni di miele, frutta secca, pane cotto di recente, luppolo, resina, agrumi e frutta disidratata.

330 ml bottle. Almost clear golden, with a small foamy head. Candy sugar, overripe stone fruit, hay, booze, dry citrus and metal. Boozy swe, dry bitterness. Full to medium bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry booozy bittersweet finish. Decent well made pale Doppelbock, rather on the sweet boozy side however with a good crisp hop bitterness.

Bottle that I picked up from the brewery Getränkemarkt, Kühbach last weekend. Had this Friday 10th December 2021 listening to Richard Dawson and Circle- Henke, we had Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas for tea tonight. Pours dark gold with a large white head. Sweetness initially but then the strength becomes a key component. Starting to pick up a light syrup edge amongst the heavy malt and usual strong lager characteristics. It treads a fine line between being a bona fide serious beer in terms of where it is aiming it's market, is it those who might appreciate a light Doppelbock or those who want to get boosted on a ramped up lager, I didn't mind it but sense that the branding on the bottle is less than subtle and to my mind has none of the usual Bock imagery etc.
