Appearance - 7 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 7 | Overall - 6.5
Tried both warm and cold. Brown with a frothy, beige head. Aroma in the direction of Glühwein, strong on the cloves, with pumpernickel bread alongside. Cold version goes down bitter and spicy but also tart. Warm, the tartness is less noticeable and it’s increasingly citric. Preferred it cold. Finishes flat bitter with doses of clove and anise. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Too heavy handed and gimmicky for my taste.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 01.08.2025) im 2025-02 getrunken. Diese Senatsbock-Interpretation wurde mit Traubensaft, Orangenschalen und Nelken in einem Rotweinfass nachgereift. Es sicher spannende Idee die aber deutlich zur 2024er "After-Eight" Version verliert. Die Aromen der Komponeten sind leider nicht stimmig und bleiben nebeneinander als das sie ein größeres Ganzes im Glas bilden. So leider etwas enttäiuschend.

Loose white head left a froth on a dark brown coloured body.
Nutty, red wine & Dandelion & Burdock aroma.
Foamy, medium bodied, dry & clean.
Red wine, oak, woody, malt & sarsaparilla tastes.

On tap at Craft Bier Bar Hamburg. Pours murky dark brown with a beige head. Bready malts and sour rye on the nose. Flavour has bready malts, bread crusts, dry grass, and a sour rye-like finish. Nice.

Flasche 0,33l: Schwarz, kräftige Trübung, kräftiger stabiler beiger mittelporiger Schaum; kräftig würzige Nase, eher trocken/kräutrig, kräftig Nelke, Kardamom, Glühweingewürz, Orangenschale, kräftig Malz, dunkles Karamell, Röstaromen, dunkle Schokolade, würzig-trockene Bitterkeit; würziger + trockener Körper, kräftig Röstmalz, dunkle Schokolade, Glühweingewürz, kräftig Nelke, Kardamom, etwas Anis, Orangenschale, cremig, mittlere Kohlensäure, trockene Kräuter; würzig-trockener Nachgang

0,33 l bottle. BB 01.08.2025. Black in the glass. More than one finger beige head. Medical anise aroma, christmas cookies. Taste starts with dark malt, choco and a lot of sour "After Eight". Also intensive medical. Weird. Sorry, over the top.

Gewürziger Beginn mit Anis und Kardamom, der durch die starke Malzigkeit gut eingebunden ist. Herb-malzig, leicht bitter, cremig malzig, langer, herb-malziger Gewürzabgang. Gefällt. 9/10/10/9/8/10
