Commercial description:
Piraat Tripel Hop is een licht amberkleurig bier van hoge gisting met nagisting op fles en op vat. De smaak is uitgesproken hoppig en bevat een droge afdronk. 4 extra hopsoorten worden toegevoegd aan de klassieke Piraat en de selectie hiervan verandert elk jaar in functie van de beschikbaarheid van de hopvarianten. De toevoeging gebeurt tijdens 3 verschillende fases, waarvan 1 door middel van dry-hopping, waarbij de hop (Cascade) wordt toegevoegd in de lagertank tijdens het rijpen.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear golden with a lacing white head. Spicy, flowery nose with distinct notes of yeast. Rich, sweet fruity and malty. Very flowery notes. A little cloying to be honest with not enough hops to compensate. Quite a finishing alcohol roar. 021022

Gylden brun klar med hvitt skum. Lukter lys sirup, karamell, stenfrukt, rosiner og drueskall. Fyldig. Søt. Smaker smørkaramell, alkohol, tørket aprikos, urter, noe vinøs. Middels lang.

Bottle. Nose is sweet, whiskey, toffee, fruit. Taste is honey, sweet malt, slight toffee, hints of fruit. Fruity esters in a soft sweet finish light spice and pepper. Slightly herbal hop note and a hint of mango, but not really what I was anticipating

Random grab from a beverage center in cohoes ny. Bubbly amber. Nose is dark fruit and yeast. Tastes like plum, cola, yeast, bready, fig, candy. Hides abv well. Odd all around. Not sure on age.

Bottle from Lidl. Pours a slightly hazy golden colour with a medium sized thick foamy white head. Aromas of yellow fruits, citrus, apple, peppery spice and a hint of cloves. Taste is more of the same notes detected in the aroma with more peppery spice and a fresh leafy and grassy hop on the fruity finish. Slightly warming but alcohol extremely well hidden for the high abv. Medium body, average carbonation and slightly oily mouthfeel. Very good.

0.33 l bottle from 'LIDL' (Wyk auf Föhr), bottled in July 2021. Slightly hazy, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, quite fruity-grassy aroma of lemon peel, fresh grass and light clove. Slightly sweet, gently bitter, quite grassy, moderately fruity-floral taste of fresh grass, lemon peel, grapefruit, light honey and traces of clove, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, fairly grassy and slightly yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Tasty Belgian Golden, nicely grassy, quite a bargain.

Pours a golden color. hop aroma at first, but the aroma has more malt hints later on. The taste is freshly bitter, with grain undertones.
