Dark brown with lasting head. Light malty sweetness. A touch of liquorice too. Quite flavoursome for the strength.

On cask at Thomsons. Appearance - dark toffee brown with some orange chinks. Nice head. Nose - oatmeal and toffee. Taste - toffee and some honeycomb but with a tart red fruit going on too. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a drying almost tart finish. Overall - not sure this was supposed to have the tart red fruit but it is still appealing.

Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 1/3/2014. Chestnut coloured with a frothy, off-white head. Plenty of caramel, fruit cake malts, a touch of roast and gentle finish. Enjoyable.
