Cask @ Black Swan, Hollins Green, Cheshire. Slightly hazy gold in colour with a thin creamy head. Hopped with a very gentle sweetness giving it quite a bold sessionable character.

Hazy yellow color, good white head, lace. A bit green vegetably hoppy aroma. Light-bodied. Sticky hoppyness and some sweetish fruity notes. Not very unbalanced.

The fourth and last beer in my ’Dunham Massey 4’ tasting evening (Apr 2011). 500ml Brown bottle, best before Aug 2011, some three and a half months away from the tasting evening. The beer is bottle conditioned. The clear amber body looked good, as did the white bubbley head that left some good lacing as the beer level fell. The smell was of hops, plenty of them and fairly bitter (in both the aroma and later in the taste). A true British IPA, hoppy, but not over the top, like some of our East Coast (US) brewing friends appear to prefer. Easy on the eye, nose and throat, this is a good example of what the original style most likely appeared and tasted like.

Cask: Dark blond colour. Aroma of stewed vegetables. Syrupy malty taste. Seems low on hop bitterness. _________ Bottle 500ml - Hazy pale blond colour. Light hoppy aroma. Flavour has a malty background and a bit of drying hop. Generally a bit rough around the edges and unrefined. A bit too gassy too 536311 = 2.8.
