A classic pale session beer, easy drinking yet full bodied. A sweet start gives way to a dry citrus finish.

Cask at the Pup & Duckling, Solihull. Poured a clear yellow golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt and yeast. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a light, slightly watery, smooth, yeasty, woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Well my notes insist that I drank this – but I have absolutely no recollection of having done so ! Cask at Brunswick, Derby. Pours a hazy pale straw with a small off-white head. Some sweetness with traces of citrus in the nose. Pretty much the same in the mouth with lemongrass and grapefruit also featuring. A little bitterness in the finish. To summarise, my notes say “OK” – but obviously it was forgettable !

Handpull cask at the Stamford Arms, Groby. Light gold, but not quite straw. Clear with a white head. White grape juice and lychee aroma marred by a drainy sulphurous tinge. Same with the taste except the sulphur is even more noticeable. It's in good condition but it just isn't a very good beer.
