Bottle from the brewery online shop. Appearance - deep golden with a fairly substantial fluffy white head. Nose - lemon, bread and grapefruit zest. Taste - lemon or grapefruit barley water.. Palate - light bodied and refreshing. Overall - does what golden ale is supposed to do.

500ml bottle from the brewery. Poured a hazy golden straw colour with a short-lived frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter, with a light, crisp, slightly watery, fruity, light tart, light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

Gravicask, 1/3 pint, at Chelmsford & Mid Essex Beer Festival. Yellow-gold body with a slight haze. Dotted spots on the glass. Mild floral aroma. Hints of citrus, pale malts, and peaches to the taste buds. Drying fruity endnotes. Refreshing. (16.02.2017).

Cask at the 10th Colchester Winter Beer Festival. Pours clear pale gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is light citrus, distinct lychee, light floral. Medium sweetness and moderate citrus bitterness. Light body and slight sticky texture, carbonation is quite lively.

Clear gold beer. Light neutral palate. Low carbonation. Light and bittersweet hops. Light malt. Juicy. Finishes with bitterness starting to dominate.

Lemony citrus and grapefruit. Light and fruity if a bit over dry. Nice lemon throughout.

From cask. Pours clear and golden yellow to orange with a small white head. Aroma is vanilla and fruity. Sweet fruity, overripe fruity, light vanilla and rather dry and bitter. Ends bitter and lasting vanilla to fruity flavoured.

Bottle 50cl. @ ChrisOs Pre-GBBF Shindig 2010.[ Raise The Roof Tasting ]. Clear light yellow color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, light to moderate hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, hoppy. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20100731]
