Bottled. A deep red beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel, spices - especially ginger, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of ginger, malt, and caramel, as well as a light note of liquorice, leading to a dry spicy finish.

(bottle, #251) Hazy, dark brown colour with a ruby shine and a beige and thick foamy head. Intensively rich and complex hoppy aroma with fruity and zesty notes, accompanied by dark, smoked and roasted malty compounds including notes of leather, dark chocolate and tobacco. Sweet and roasty bitter flavour, full bodied with an extremely well-carbonated mouthfeel. Rich malty taste with a cornucopia of flavours, ranging from caramel, chocolate, berries, leather, smoked ham, tobacco and vanilla up to notes of barnyard/pig sty (in the positive sense), leading into a lasting smoky and roasty malty, also subtle fruity finish. Wonderful Barley Wine - Strong Porter hybrid. 15.XII.10
