14/11/2025. Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Decent pour. Nice fruity, malty aroma. Dried fruit, biscuit, caramel, dates, hints of Christmas spice. Nice fruity sweetness, mild bitterness. Moderate body, oily, soft carbonation. A nice fruity Christmasy red.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, just labelled 'Dasher' but the same ABV and style so must be the same. Clear amber brown with moderate sized off-white top, nice lacing. Aroma has a light roast to the malt, brown bread, nuts, very light spur hint. Taste the same with some berry notes. Tasty with good balance between bitter and sweet although a touch thin to be a great ESB.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] A golden amber pour with a scant cream coloured head; aroma of sour grains; sweet malty taste with some red fruit; then a drier biscuity finish with more fruit. A pleasant winter bitter.

Cask-conditioned, at the WG Grace (JDW), Bristol 28/11/22. Deep brown in colour with a slight, off-white, head. Caramel, ripe red berries, figs, bready malts, before a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - brown with definite autumnal red chinks. Cream proportionate head. Nose - an edge of jammy dodger, but mainly biscuit and caramel. Taste - caramel, milk chocolate, some biscuit bitterness. Just a touch of lemon. Palate - roasty and medium bodied. Sweetness but decent bitterness on the finish. Overall - good example of the style.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours dark chestnut with red chinks and a thick off-white head. Aromas of biscuit and toffee, something nutty and light red fruit jam. Taste has some chocolate, cheap cocoa powder, toffee and light red fruit again. Nice balance.
