12oz, thanks WillRun. Dark, black, reddish hues. no head. Aroma is just straight up coffee. acidic, roasty, bright. Very thin mouthfeel. acidic roasty finish. middle is some chocolate, coffee bean, not really fantastic. I guess would be good as a breakfast beer i hat was something I was into.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/2/2013. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense dark brown head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of huge roasted coffee bean, dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, char, toast, cream, light vanilla, and roasted earthiness. Fantastic aromas with big coffee presence and great complexity of roasted malt/cream notes; with great strength. Taste of roasted coffee bean, dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, light char, cream, light vanilla, and roasted earthiness. Light roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, light char, toast, cream, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice balance and complexity of coffee, roasted malt, and cream flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very creamy and moderately slick mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome coffee stout! All around great balance and complexity of coffee, roasted malt, and cream flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle pour to snifter. Dark, dark, dark brown with small head. Big coffee aroma. Fresh roasted coffee taste with hint of sugar and cream to take the edge of the bitterness. I liked the single bottle that I bought...hope the store has a six-pack with my name on it.

Opaque dark brown beer, tidy brown head. Nose of fresh black coffee. Fairly neutral palate. Fresh black coffee, not bitter but very slightly sour. Some lactose takes the edge off the coffee. Whisper of hop fruits in the finish but this beer is all about the coffee and it’s done well.

Thanks to pest for sharing a bottle. The beer pours brown-black with a medium tan head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of black coffee with some chocolatey notes in the background. Medium body with a roasted coffee character and flavors of bittersweet chocolate, malt and a touch of dark fruit. The finish is creamy with a coffee aftertaste. Above average overall.

Deep, absolute pitch black coloured body with no head at all and a very oily look - crazy deep, just like a nice [used] motor oil. Aroma of super pungent coffee, roasted malt, peanuts, walnuts, anise and a ton more roasted coffee. Medium-bodied; Super strong soy sauce, Worcestershire, mushrooms and meaty flavours abound with some roasted coffee, a lot of pungent roasted malt, alcohol and a bit more anisey and licorice flavours - strong as hell and not necessarily in a good way. Aftertaste is very strong with a vibrant mushroom and meaty taste along with roasted coffee. Overall, a strong and pungent beer with a lot of deep flavours that don’t go over so well. Nice and strong tasting, but just not for me. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 16-January-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 19-September-2011.

12oz bottle thanks to my good friend raveskdr. Poured a pitch black, no head at all. Aroma was burnt, roasted coffee. Flavor was coffee, like a cold straight, black coffee. Booze non-existent. Pretty good, but I’ve had better coffee stouts before. Worth checking out.
