Fallen Angel Golden Ale, first brewed on
6-6-6 [JUN 6, 2006], is named in the tradition of Belgian golden strong ales--after the devil himself. We call this beer our "original sin" because it spawned our 2007 Deadly Sin beer series.

Midnight Sun’s Fallen Angel Golden Ale is a traditional Belgian-style golden strong ale--deep gold in color with tiny, conniving bubbles forming a very thick, meticulous head. Effervescent and crisp, this delicious ale tempts the palate with apple, pear and a little earthy mustiness. Its beauty and brightness is angel-like in appearance but the devil in is its strength.

With its introduction in 2006 and its immediate cult following, Fallen Angel is now brewed and released on a more frequent basis.

Bottle: Poured a golden color with a creamy off white colored head. Aroma is sweet caramel, floral, and fruit. Taste is a strong floral upfront with clove and spice, transitions into sticky sweet malt or fruit. Leaves the tongue wanting more.

Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy blonde color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of semi-sweet Belgian style malt backbone with light fruity ester. Taste is also an interesting mix between some semi-sweet Belgian-style malt with nice attenuation level with some fruity notes Body is quite full with good level of carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well done with nice drinkable feature.

Bottle @ home. Hazy, yellow-orange appearance with a big, fluffy, white head. Light citrusy, belgian yeasty, light barnyard, crisp, peppery aroma. Crisp, slightly grassy hoppy, sweet belgian yeasty, somewhat citrusy, belgian golden ale flavor. Solid Belgian golden ale.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours orange tinged lightly hazy dark gold with a 2 finger creamy near-white head. Aromas of yeast/spice, lightly cooked light stone fruit and a little citrus. Definitely some barnyard. Med body. It starts lightly sweet, yeasty/earthy, fruity. Goes more towards barnyard quickly. Finishes on the dry side. Didn’t get pear/apple at first, but after awhile it’s arguable cause the light stone fruit seems to have left. More than arguable. It’s turning into quite a different ale than it started. Really good stuff.

22 oz. bottle, pours yellowish orange with a big white head. Fruity and yeast aroma of citrus, floral notes, apricot, orange and other such fruits. Flavour matches accordingly, with yeasty notes accentuated by the aforementioned fruits, citrus and floral notes. Quite nice.

Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has strong notes of peaches. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, peaches, and citrus fruits, leading to a dry and bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
