Replacement for Best Bitter.

This is an ambient bitter, successfully merging the biscuity sweetness of English malt with the fruity, floral bitterness of locally grown East Kent Goldings and Target hops, to give a clean, satisfying and moreish drink.

Beautiful copper colour, pretty big frothy white head, shows good retention throughout the last sips and leaves lots of laces on the sides of the glass. Soft and delicate aroma of nutty malts, backed by light floral and red fruit notes. Taste follows the aroma, though not vividly so. Nice bittersweet balance with a moderately bitter finish (slight resinous touch). Light to medium body with low to medium crispness, easy and quick but still decently creamy. Enjoyable

Clear light brown colour. Floral hop in the aroma. Flavour is rather bland and weak and slightly metallic but has some light fruity notes and a dry, bitter hop finish.

Clear 500ml bottle on 9th Aug 2013 at my parents: poured into a chalice (twice). Good amber coat to the brew, a small white head hung around on both pours’ but not for very long. Malt front to the nose and taste, caramel and toffee notes to be precise. Mild floral and fruit hints in the taste, but the aroma is all malts. A bit thin body wise, but OK for a cheap supermarket beer, which is what this beer really is.
