Cask at the Punch Bowl, West Hallam, Derbyshire. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is big malt hop, light citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth malt hop woody bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. A superb pint and very well kept.

Bottle from the Spar. Appearance - amber with a decent head. Nose - toffee and biscuit. A bit of malty spice. Taste - dry breakfast cereal and more spicy malt. Palate - medium bodied with a big crunchy texture and a fairly balanced finish. Overall - decent bitter. Good body for the strength.

Can from the LCBO. Deep clear copper pour with a tiny white head. Nose is light roast and a touch of apricot. Mild fruity sweetness with an equal balance of bitterness leading to s relatively short finish. Mouth is quite thin and watery with average carbonation. Easy drinking but not much character.

Cask at a visit back to Preston. Dark brown pour, big white head. Overwhelming aromas of banana, and not in a nice-weiss-beer way. Some toffee. Bit odd. Tastes sweet. Possibly not well kept, so switched to the Wainwright. My cousin had four of these, and was apparently sick in the car on the way home. might re-rate in future just to be sure.
