Bottle at the Pozarevac tasting in Serbia 10242015.Many thanks John Nolan for this rare and retired vintage bottle you shared with the Serbian crew. Pours deep black color, no head anymore. Nose: milled barley, some soy (!), molasses. Mouth: dry fruit, under spirit cherries, molasses. Still with a fresh body despite its age.

Black color; small head, not persistent. Mild roasted malt and wet cardboard aroma, very light alcohol. The body is not too strong; reasonable chocolate and roasted malt flavor, quite sweet, but also with a strange feeling of brown sugar that is not very much appreciated. Low bitterness; the final is not very exciting, there is just some sweet chocolate and traces of mild coffee. Too simple.

4th June 2010. Bottle in Johnny’s Off License, Rome. Clearly marked as 10.0% abv. Opaque black stout, good brown head. Smooth palate, a little dry. Rich chocolatey malt. A little coffee but it’s not bitter. A little fresh minerals. Lovely smooth and very easy drinking Impy Stout.
