Old rating - One of 5 bottles I got when visiting the brewery in the spring of 2014. Old notes from 13-07-14. Pours a red copper colour with a white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, toffee, fruits & bready malt. Medium bitter finish. Average

Old rating from 2014 - From the cask at the brewery, pours clear brown with a creamy white head. Aromas & tastes of flora, earth, hints of spice, nuts & malt. Moderate body. Mild bitter finish

500ml bottle at 4.5%. Pours dark orange with a medium head. Aroma is fruity malt, bread and vanilla. Taste Is bready malt and a little dark fruit to start with a bitter, toast finish. Soft carbonation.

Bottle outside Frank (camper) at Bromyard Folk Festival, 11.09.11 This was purchased at Tesco Extra, Bridgend, Wales, 21.08.11 Pours brown initially quite nutty with an ok bitterness, typical boiled sweet pasteurisation flavours also showing, actually bitterness improves. Its ok. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Cask (handpump) @ GWBCF2011 - Great Welsh Beer and Cider Festival, Cardiff Interantional Arena, Mary Ann Street, Cardiff, Wales.Clear light medium amber colour with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, toffee and anis seed notes, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat to soft. [20110616]

Cask@GWBCF 2011. Orangeish golden colour with a small head. Aroma is nutty, wooden and mildly herbal. Flavour is quite similar along with some grassy and malty notes as well.

Clear brown beer, semi soft dry palate. Watery malt and then just a very light touch of hops. Watery minerally finish with a very mild bitterness in the aftertaste. Okay, just bland! Even by UK 4.2% bitter standards!!

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 09/05/10. Deep gold with a slight white head. Sweet malts and floral hop aroma. Flavours of caramel, fruity malts leading to a decent bitter finish. Ok.
