Belikin Beer is brewed in the classic continental European lager style. Belikin uses Canadian Pilsner malt in combination with a blend of German hops to create the perfect malt-hop balance for our flagship. Since December 13, 1971 the original recipe has called for a lengthy fermentation and lagering to allow the yeast to create its full conditioning. This full-bodied beer with a medium golden colour is delightful any time of the day.

Bottled. A golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of straw and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of matl, straw, and more. Boring.

Had a bottle of this last night. Average. Poured a pale yellow with a slender white head. Nose of light hops and straw. Taste is grainy with a little crispness. Light-bodied and finishes easily.

Courtesy of fishingnet and as seen on Three Sheets, that’s good Belikin. Pours clear pale gold with weak white head. The aroma is sweet, cereal and corn with a faint note of floral hops that is just noticeable. The taste is thin and mildly refreshing with grains notes to go along with cereal and corn. Into the finish a mild floral hop note rises up and says, “here I am.” This brew’s lack of hops makes it immune to the current hop shortage.

Bottle courtsey of fishingnet. Pours golden clear with a thin white head. Aroma and taste are of caramel malt and grains (corn), lightly floral. Beer is enjoyable, crisp and dry finish.

Bottle. Grainy malt aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Stale barley malt flavor. Extra points for not being a blatant Corona rip-off. Decent enough pale lager.

Bottled (thanks heemer77!). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel and maize, very sweet. Flavour are very much the same with some bready hints also around. Not very nice. Also some hints of citrus fruits (lemon mainly, but also others).

This is the beer of Belize. Aside from this and the other Belikin beers, it is difficult to find other beers. Fortunately, this beer is not half bad. It is a nice crisp, relatively light beer, that is perfect to drink on a beach or under a palm roof. Smells a bit skunky, but taste does not reflect smell really. Really refreshing beer. If you go to Belize, it is worth bringing back a sixer. Bottle is unfortunately only 9 ounces or so.
