Handbottle from København Ølfestival 2010
Black color; carbonate but almost no head. Very nice aroma: chocolate cookies, ink, some bread, cardboard, light whiskey or rum. Inky body; very strong chocolate and roasted malt flavor; the mouthfeel becomes immediately dry (almost extreme dryness and some astringency in the end); there are traces of whiskey and peat. The final becomes also a bit ashy.
The chocolate and whiskey work very well together, but the dryness is too much for me.

Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Black body with a thin, dense beige head. Aroma of sweet, roasted malt, oak and peat with alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, roasted, peat, whisky, somehow fruity and a decent bitterness. It’s a very nice beer with a harmonic balance.

On tap at KØ-10. It’s gorgeous looking in the glass, with it’s jet black body and dense, tan head sitting on top. The aroma is peated and roasted with hints of ashtray. Quite chocolatey. The flavor has a nice sweetness, as well as mocha, notes of licorice and a balanced touch of peat. Full-bodied, dryish and smooth on the palate. A nice beer that drinks easy and is gorgeous in the mouth, even though the flavors and aromas aren’t the most exciting. 100507

On tap. Pours pitch black with a dense light brown head. Burned rubber and iodine dominate the aroma. Quite full-bodied, hard roasted malt, lots of peat and iodine. Fairly malt bitter finish. I DO NOT dig Islay! Now it’s out... 060710

Tap @ Copenhagen 2010. Dark color, short head. Aroma of peaty iodine, islay. Dryish, peaty. Bit too much of the oaky and dry peat for such a relative low bodied beer.
