Bottle. Hazelnut, chocolate malt and weedy hay aroma. Medium brown with moderate tan head. Light sweet chocolate malt, hay, and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Not bad.

12oz bottle picked up in Columbus, OH. Filtered ruby red-brown body, thin off-white head. Smooth, mellow brown malt, maple aroma. Medium bodied, pretty much spot on for the style. Clean and balanced. Toffee, dark fruit, caramel chocolate notes, nutty. Nothing mindblowing, middle of the road, but also ideal for a sessionable brown ale. Well done.

12oz Bottle pours out a dark cola colr topped with a sand head. Aroma was of sweet malts, roast, caramel, and some nuts. Taste was just as the aroma but with a little hop on it.

12 ounce bottle from Belmont Party Supply. So, some of the previous ratings slam this beer, but on the other hand I’ve had back to back solid to amazing beers from these guys and an initial whiff of this one is pleasant, so I have high hopes. Pours a clear amber color with a medium off-white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of caramel, toffee, toasted malts, grain, faint chocolate and fainter hops. The taste is bitter hops, fruity notes, caramel, grain. Medium bodied. The taste doesn’t measure up to the aroma but it’s still a nice beer.

Initally this stuff comes across strong and rude like the rest of their beers; they are rated quite average in alky content but when you drink it it seems like a couple of points higher. Quite a personality up front. Malty alky thing sets in. Some creamy co2 saves this. Wew, I think I’m getting dizzy, no? Bitter medicine finish may appeal to some ipa lovers. Alky malty carob in some swigs.

12 ounce bottle. Pours clear reddish brown color with a fairly dense 2 finger off white head with good retention that reduces to a thin lacing cap. Small amount of glass lacing is present as well. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, maple syrup, and roasted nuts. Very nice aromas with good strength as well. Taste of caramel, roasted malt, chocolate, nuttiness, and a bit of maple syrup and breadiness. Fairly strong roasted bitterness on the finish that lingers for a bit with nuttiness, caramel, and roasted flavor. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. A bit of a prickly feel as well, but has nice smoothness and drinkability. Nice balance of flavors as well. No alcohol in the taste or finish noticed. Overall a very nice brown ale, I would get this again, really sessionable stuff.
