Now in its third release, our Blackberry & Nettle Sour is known as one of our most sour beers. The beer is brewed with a small amount of hops to allow the sour character to come through, as well as added nettles for a slight savoury note. In the late summer, we picked local blackberries found along the Suffolk lanes close to the brewery which we added directly to the barrel. The sharp berry flavours enhance this already mouth puckering beer.

Bottle from Hoptimism. Appearance - deep amber to brown with low carbonation and a quickly disappearing head. Nose - wood, balsamic, berry fruit and savoury note. Taste - balsamic, going into malt vinegar. Woody again, with very tart berry and probably apple fruit. Palate - tangy, sour and very persistent on the finish. Probably medium bodied and intensity. Overall - good stuff.
