Cask at Jake’s Place. It pours clear amber with medium white head. The nose is bready, grainy and lightly citric. The taste is lemon, lime, straw, sweet pale malt, dough and light bitterness with a crisp, dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit sweet really. So-so.

Bottle mail ordered from Yamaichi. Fruity, citrus nose, lemon and orange, light pilsner like malts, a bit of bread. deep gold with a huge head. Simple flavor, bready malts, light minerals, dry lemon, some zest, a tiny touch of honey. A bit yeasty as well. Light and clean, tasty, nicely bitter finish. Good enough but not all that exciting.

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear gold, lightly effervescent with a small, foamy white head. Toasty malt nose with hints of caramel and pine needles. Medium sweet flavor, very well balanced, some toast, mild leaves, mild grass, subtle caramel, touches of orange and other citrus, toasted sugar. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Crisp, clean, lightly dry to finish, some very light resins, more pine needles, light bread, toast, caramel. Really drinkable stuff. Like a good APA. Quintessential session beer right here.

Taste of sweet pale malts....citrusy light spicy hops..slight sour note...clean and refreshing
Palate - moderate carb...light body... slightly over carbonated. Finish of smooth sweet malts with spicy and citrus hops.
Easy drinking, quaffable golden ale. I’d like to try this cask.

Re-rate - more pine and grapefruit, then cut grass. Better aroma, taste and overall scores. Previous rating 21/03/11 6/3/6/4/12 = 3.1 Light amber, nice lace on the appearance. Green herbacious nose, very dry. Dry, lemon pith, taste. The palate has a fairly big malt structure and a drying finish. Drinkability and balance is better than most beers!

330ml bottle picked up at a Vino Wines store in Edinburgh. Golden-amber in body appearance over a fast declining, white head. Modest aroma expression of oily hops. Weak hoppy taste with hints of grapefruits. Lighter oily palate. Ordinary with some session qualities (hotel room, 30.11.2010).
