Cloudy brown beer, small white head. Lightly sour nose with mild oxidised malt. Light palate, crispy and semi dry. Mildly sour fruits. Oxidised malt. Seltzer minerals. Dry finish. Meh!

Cask at the White Horse Old Ale festival 2011, Parsons Green, London. An amber coloured pour with a small white head on top. Sweet, fruity, port like aroma. Tastes similar, dark fruit, caramel, sweet, malty, port. This was really good stuff.

(Cask, by gravity, at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 26 Nov 2010) Dark ruby colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, treacle and cherries in brandy. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, burnt sugar, treacle, toffee and caramel. Full body. Sweet, vinous and warming. A bit sweet and syrupy for my taste, but a very nice winter warmer when sipped in moderate amounts in front of a log fire.

Bottle that I picked up from Utobeer, Borough Market, Southwark, London 13.11.10 consumed at home 20.11.10 Reddy brown appearance with an off-white head. The aroma is heady, heavy and sweet touch of spirit. Soft mouthfeel, the alcohol is very warming, loads of dark sugar, bitterness clinging to the roof of the mouth, despite the heavy sweetness this is a little dry at the finish. Bit rough around the edges, maybe would be better with a little age on it. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov13 3.1

33 cL bottle, courtesy of Papsoe. Pours hazy to murky dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is citric and fruity. Bitter, caramel malty, fruity and mild citric. Sweet and slight citric fruity finish. Clearly infected - but it works out okay.

Tasting at Papsø
Hazy amber color; big head. The aroma is light, the flavor is revealing: infected Ale. Some sourness and vegatables, everywhere. Bad.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a hazy deep amber with an off-white head. Sour nose - citric fruitiness. Solid body, sweet caramel and citrusy fruits with a rather distinct sourness. Dry and sour finish. It’s amazing how the British brewers so often manage to infect even their strongest beers. 100410

Bottle at The Rake, HogTownHarry visit May 2009. Pretty looking beer, deep amber, lasting beinge head. Bit sweetish on aroma. Actually pretty drinkable, some tangerine. Booziness softened out of it I thought. Teh tagerine was great. Really quite lovely.
