NOT FOR THE TIMID. This non-traditional beer is an Oatmeal Stout, Milk Stout AND an Imperial Stout all in one. With a complex flavor profile ranging from coffee to chocolate, the sweetness is complemented with Nugget and Centennial hops to produce an extraordinary finish. But with an 8.5% ABV, don't let the smooth taste fool you - this beer is like the Kern at high water.

650ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a smooth light brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, chocolate, coffee and hops. Taste is smooth, roasty and hoppy with some herbal notes, coffee, chocolate and hints of syrup. Finish is hoppy, roasty and chocolatey with some coffee and earthiness. Pretty nice hoppy stout.

Bottle @ Armin’s house. Thanks Armin! Deep brown/black appearance with a nice, light brown head. Rich cocoa, big vanilla, espresso, toasty malty aroma. A touch woody/roasty, fairly sweet chocolate, vanilla, coffee flavor. A bit lighter in body than expected. Pretty good.

From the 3/2012 3R6P tasting. My first beer from this brewer. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small brown head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was cocoa, coffee, anise and floral hops. The flavor was malty with moderate coffee and hints of anise, cocoa, toffee, wood and floral hops. Medium length finish and medium body. Ok.

On tap at Gourmet Haus. Aroma of mostly coffee and slight chocolate. Roasted malt also present. Black with garnet highlights and brown full head. Head falls quickly but laces down the glass. Medium viscous mouthfeel where coffee predominates. Sharp acidic up front. Great bitterness is the backbone of this beer showing abundant hops for the style. Mouthfeel lingers long.

Bottle shared at the 6th annual Richmond Industry Gathering, 11/27/11. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized frothy head. Decent head retention. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, citrus and berry-like fruits. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, berries and a bit of a chalky note. Medium-full bodied. Nice, and very drinkable.
