Summer 2012 Had this as Reb’Ale Rousse as part of a mixed 6-pack from a convenience store on St-Laurent. This sucked, the whole 6 pack was horrible, the color & look were fine for each style but they must have been infected or past their prime because every single beer tasted like bile. My brother finished them as no one else wanted to touch the stuff.

Bouteille 341ml. (2005)

Originally rated May 2005. The deposit of yeast (and maybe more) in the bottom of the bottle is the thickest I’ve ever seen. After pouring, the chunks are big all over. The colour is beige-orange and is quite hazy. The head is very creamy with good retention. The layer left on top of the brew is quite thick too. Aroma wise, I get prunes, earth and sweetness. Tarty mouthfeel. Slight sour mouth entry with a mild bitter middle and finish with the yeast in the back log. Dark fruits are found somewhere in there. Weird brew. First fews sips are always hard to get used to, but then, it gets better as you go. Hard to decipher most of the taste and aromas in here. Decently brewed, but not my kind of belgian beer. Recommended to try once at least, but I had mine. Hard to finish 6-pack.

Foggy brown-amber body with almost no head. Just like all their other beers! Aroma of sewage and wet farts, like when the garburateur acts up and belches up some bad stench of some rotten cabbage you had for dinner last week. Flavour is a mix of grass and malt, something like wild rice that has been roasted and then thrown in your backyard to ferment while it’s raining. Where the hell’s the rousse? I’m no big rousse fan but this is really bad stuff by any measure... and according to the label it won a gold medal in Chicago in 1998! Ha!

cloudy brown, smooth offwhite head. (small) aroma is sort of similar to well oaked puke. Could be a sour, or could be an infected something else. flavor is sort of oaked badness. Very interesting infection. Hard to drink.

Bottle 341ml. @ home.Unclear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, berry - yeast tart, leather - tobacco. Flavor is moderate sweet, light fruit - orange acidic and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. Not terrible but very speciale... [20100325]

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, raspberries, and lemon. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, over ripe fruits, yeast, and some caramel, leading to a dry finish where the note of over ripe fruits lingers. Thanks yespr for sharing.
