Pitch black color. Off white head. Charcoal, dark chocolate, molasses And strong character from The barrel. Medium carbonation, don’t love the mouthfeel. Sticky thick. Tons of tobacco, dark chocolate. Ok but perhaps a touch passed its prime

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, slightly roasty and minimally spicy, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, some caramel, treacle, toffee, liquorice, a touch of cocoa, vanilla, chocolate cookies, doughy overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately, slightly roasty and minimally spicy, dark malty, notes of treacle, caramel and liquorice, hints of dark chocolate, cocoa, toffee, coffee, coffee beans, a touch of rock sugar, cinnamon, Bourbon; lingering, sweet-ish, minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Full body, oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft palate, rather prickly carbonation. Well balanced, harmonious and dangerously drinkable considering its double digit abv - and therefore quite typical for Põhjala. Very good!

(330ml bottle from somewhere long-forgotten) Pours black with a decent sized and stable dark brown head. Notes of dark sugar and caramel, plums, red wine, light molasses, oak, a bit of rubber, some rather and astringent bitter toasted grains and chocolate, some alcohol heat. Medium bodied, with odd, soft but very high mouth-filling carbonation. Not sure what to make of this - I don't hate it but I definitely don't love it either. Feels like it might be slightly off? Or is it just the barrels?

33 cl bottle @ home. Batch #377, BBE 31.01.2020.
Aroma is odd and a bit musty with licorice, alcohol and rubber. Flavour has rubbery notes, alcohol, some molasses and licorice. Foamy palate. A disappointment, too much alcohol and also some rubbery harsh bitterness.

Kicsi, gyorsan eltűnő hab, fekete szín. Csokis, kávés, hordós, aszaltszilvás és aszaltcseresznyés illat. Csokis, kakaóporos, kávés ízek, komoly aszaltgyümölcsös aromákkal, némi vaníliával és hordós beütéssel. Testes, enyhén édeskés, enyhén szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Nagyon finom, jól eltalált sör.
