Bottiglia.

500ml compact swing top bottle, as Renoir Bitter 5.5% abv., bought at Open Baladin Roma. Opens with a shot and pours a cloudy amber coloured body with a lasting off-white head, leaving good lacing behind. Bittering hops to the nose offset by earthy malts. Resin-like hops in flavour together with a solid touch of caramel malts. Moderate, dry bitter endnotes. Smooth palate. Likable, but far from great (hotel room, 02.04.2012).

Bottle 50 cl. RBESG Rome 2010. Pours a cloudy opaque amber with a rough beige head. Distinct leathery Brett in the nose. Rather light body, a little nuttiness and again dry Brett accents. A little astringent and lightly bitter finish - no tartness. Clearly infected but comes out quite nice. 070610

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is citrusy brett like. Dry malty, fruity, bitter and distinct brett herbal. Ends lingering yeasty with a dry grassy touch. Infected - but not bad.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of brettanomyces, malt, caramel, leading to a tart finish. I guess it is flawed, but the brett works well.

2010-03-06, bottle at Eataly, Milan, 6-4-7-3-14=34
Hazy brown color; high carbonation and therefore big head, creamy and steady. The aroma is mild, with chocolate and light yeast. Good chocolate flavor, smooth but also a bit dry and ashy, with a good bitterness level. Well made.

2009-03-21, draught at IBF 2009, Milan, 5-4-5-3-10
Cloudy red-amber color. Light earthy aroma, light manure. Ordinary body, some caramel flavor, a bit harsh, light final astringency, strong bitterness, too yeasty.
