Bottle. Color: Black, brown head. Aroma: Chocolate, red wine. Taste: Medium sweet, dark roasted malt, caramel, lightly sour red wine notes, notes of chocolate and coffee mostly at the long lasting finish. Light hints of nuts. Lightly earthy. Bittery palate. Medium to above medium body, slightly above average carbonation. Another nice Pohjala cellar series.

19/2/18: Lovely. Thick and bitter, rich flavor and the right amount of barrel adds woody and vinous notes. Overcarbonated, though, otherwise it would really be stunning.

12/1/23: BB 31 01 20. Dark brown, quite a lot of rough brown head. Smells roasty, dark chocolate, bit of licorice. Fairly high carbed, firm yet soft. Taste held up. Nicely roast, soft bitterness, light sweetness. Lots of dark chocolate, bit of the moscatel. Nice.

Pours almost black from the bottle. Dark tan head that slowly fades. Aroma is dark chocolate and sherry wine. Taste covers the full spectrum: sweet with a light berry tang and then a mild bitterness at the end. Smooth, rich and thick. Top notch. I cannot recall drinking a porter any better than this one.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - batch 376 - BB 31.01.20, from Uba ja Humal, 20171123) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, liquorice, dark chocolate and sweetness. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, vanilla, vineousness, liquorice, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. A well done balanced strong burnt brew. Easily drinkable.

Black with little brown head. Aroma is cacao dough, some chocolate, salted caramel, molasses. Taste is spicy spiky slightly sour dark chocolate. Quite boozy and heavy. It is really an explosion in the mouth. Also much alcohol warmth. Could have more body. Still nice.
